One Woman's Amazing Career in Journalism
 

BIOGRAPHY

During more than 40 years in journalism, Margaret (Maggie) A. Kilgore worked 16 years for United Press International in Ohio, New Jersey and Washington, D.C. where she covered Congress, the White House and the Justice Department. She is a past president of the former Women’s National Press Club in Washington. She was a foreign correspondent for the wire service during the Vietnam War from 1970-72.

In 1973, Kilgore joined the Los Angeles Times as a financial and general assignment reporter. She later worked for a decade in corporate public relations. She was the recipient of a Ford Foundation Walter Lippmann Fellowship and Knight International Press Fellowship. She also has conducted economic journalism workshops in emerging democracies for the U.S. State Department in Asia, Africa and Europe. Miss Kilgore lives in Santa Monica, CA.
